Belgium – Antisemitic Epithets Directed at a Pupil at a School in Knokke

On 24th November 2004, a 14-year-old pupil at school in Knokke told his teacher about antisemitic epithets such as “dirty Jew” shouted at him by three 15-16 year-old pupils at the same school. After one of these pupils found out that the victim had reported to the teacher, he threatened him with a knife. Talks were held at the school designed to find out who the perpetrators were, and while two of them confessed the pupil who had made threats with the knife denied any involvement. The teacher filed a complaint with the police against that student.
