At a soccer match between the Kaispor Team in which the Israeli Pini Balili is a player and the Marinspor team held on 23rd January 2005, antisemitic epithets were shouted at the Jewish player. The fans of Marinspor, which comes from a place near the Syrian border, shouted epithets against Balili and against the Jews in general throughout the game.
