Britain – PM Blair Demands an Apology from London Mayor for Antisemitic Remark

British PM Tony Blair demanded on 18 February that London‘s Mayor, Ken Livingstone apologize to apologize for the antisemitic remark he made about a Jewish journalist of the Evening Standard , a newspaper that frequently criticizes the Mayor. Livingstone referred to the journalist as a “German war criminal who behaves like a concentration camp guard.” Livingstones’ remarks caused a storm within the Jewish community. Livingstone, for his part, refuses to apologize claiming that the remarks might have been insulting but not antisemitic.
