Spain – Antisemitic Newspaper Caricature


On 21st May 2004, the El Pariodico de Catalunya published a caricature which showed Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon walking beneath a giant dressed like the Israeli flag. Sharon, wearing a skullcap mumbling to himself “The European Press is antisemitic, Amnesty International is antisemitic, the Red Cross is antisemitic, the European Union is antisemitic and the United Nations are antisemitic, too. We are lucky that the “Supreme” [Court] justifies us, and the giant answers: “Right”.
