Belarus – Officials Admit that the Phenomenon of Neo-Nazism is not being Dealt with Properly

In an interview with N. Gorelov, the Chief of Investigations in the Homyel (Gomel) Region Police, he admitted that the Belarussian Police is not aware of the extend of the problem of neo-Nazism. He added that despite the lack of statistical data collected by the police, the problem does indeed exist in Belarus. One should not make the mistake of assuming that the issue is unimportant. It should be borne in mind, he said, that a dangerous political movement has been developing over the past several decades, staring society right in the face. He went on to say that he intends dealing with the problem.
