Austria – The European Jewish Congress is Planning to Press Criminal Charges against the President of Iran

In the near future, the European Jewish Congress is planning to press charges against Iranian President Muhammad Ahmadinejad at the International Criminal Courts in The Hague for incitement to genocide. At the General Assembly of the European Jewish Congress on 19th February 2006, in Vienna, Austria a large majority is expected to approve this move. In addition, the European Jewish Congress is promoting a resolution in the European Parliament in Strasbourg declaring Ahmadinejad “Persona non grata” in the 25 member states of the European Union. Recently, the Congress has succeeded in recruiting prominent politicians, businesspeople and intellectuals to sign a petition calling for European Governments to prevent the Iranian President from entering their countries. The petition is to be published in the media all over Europe. (Ha’aretz)
