USA – The Human Rights Commission Recommends a Campaign against Antisemitism at the Universities

On 3rd April 2006, after hearing testimony from Jewish organizations such as the American Jewish Congress, the Zionists Organization of America and others, regarding the state of antisemitism, the American Commission on Civil Rights determined that antisemitism on the campuses was a serious problem. In keeping with this, the Commission recommended that the Department of Education conduct a campaign designed to teach Jewish students that is their right to live without harassment. The Commission also recommended that information be gathered on antisemitism and other offenses committed on the campuses. The Commission added that there is solid evidence indicating that the Departments of Middle Eastern Studies at certain universities repress legitimate discussions about
