Australia – Physical and Verbal Abuse of a Member of the Lubavitcher Community in Melbourne

On 14^th October 2006, a member of the ultra-Orthodox Lubavitcher community in
Melbourne was attacked by a gang of about 20 thugs as he was on his way to synagogue in

Melbourne. His attackers shouted curses at him and grabbed his had and skullcap off his head. When asked his attackers for his skullcap back, they hit him and knocked him to the sidewalk. The victim’s injuries required treatment from the ambulance team that arrived at the site.
