“Der Fuehrer” Wine on Sale at a Filling Station on the Venice Highway

On 1st July 2007, Israeli tourists who stopped for a rest at a filling station on the highway leading to Venice were shocked to find bottles of wine showing Hitler’s image on sale at the station’s shop. According to one of the tourists, “I saw bottles of wine in a crate and pulled one of them out. I was shocked to discover that the bottle’s label showed pictures of Hitler and Mussolini. It was prominently displayed as part of the ordinary goods on sale. This was not in some remote village, but rather on a main road frequented by masses of tourists. It may be assumed that the wine is not widely distributed, but is probably the product of a local farmer who produces which the manager of the station markets for him. Nevertheless, it was shocking to see that such things exist”.
