On 26th August 2007, a Jewish man discovered on returning from a vacation that his car standing in the parking lot of the building where he lives in Anderlecht had been broken into by thieves and torched as well. The vandals had also broken into other vehicles to steal whatever was in them. Out of 19 vehicles that had been vandalized, his was the only one that had been torched. Since the victim had left skullcaps in the glove compartment of his car, he assesses that the torching had been a consciously antisemitic act.
