On Friday afternoon, 14th September 2007, as part of Rosh Hashanah prayers, a group of worshippers were performing the act of Tashlikh (the symbolic act of tossing one’s sins into a body of water – a lake, a river, the sea) in a park in Antwerp, a pick-up truck drove by and a man of North African appearance stopped and said to a security guard in French: “We’re going to carry out an attack here” and then continued on his way.
