On 22nd September 2007, a motorcycle drew close to the Great Synagogue in Brussels. The street had been closed off by a barrier in respect of the fact that the day was Yom Kippur. The motorcycle was driven through the “No entry” sign and was stopped by policemen who asked the driver to leave the street. The driver left the street on foot, and when he saw a young man wearing a skullcap he shouted at him in Flemish: “The little guy with the moustache (Hitler) should have come back to finish his job”. He then shouted “Heil Hitler” three times and gave the Nazi salute.
