The United States – Antisemitic Graffiti on Columbia Campus

Yesterday, 11th October 2007, the New York Police Department began investigating the antisemitic graffiti discovered on a wall in a men’s room on the Columbia University campus in New York City. The graffiti, daubed in black ink depicted a man wearing a skullcap with a swastika above his head. The incident is being treated as a hate crime. However, the police have no leads whatsoever regarding who perpetrated the crime. The University’s President, Lou Bolinger, was quick to publish a condemnation of the act. “I am said to report that one of the men’s rooms has been damaged by antisemitic defamation. The sketch has been removed and the incident is being investigated”, his announcement read.
