Louis Ranger, 52, of the 1400 block of West Granville, Chicago, is charged with a hate crime as well as misdemeanor assault after threatening a man with an ice pick, said Assistant State’s Attorney William Bruce.
“He called him a Jewish mother fucker. He threatened that he was going to knock his head off,” Bruce said.
Ranger has a long criminal record that includes a hate crime conviction from 1994, Bruce said. Records show he also has convictions for aggravated battery, burglary and residential burglary.
