UK – CST’s antisemitic incidents report 2007

According to the Community Security Trust (CST), which monitors and co-ordinates safety in the Jewish community, 2007 saw 114 attacks compared to 112 in the previous year.

While overall the number of antisemitic incidents being reported and recorded dropped to 547 in 2007 from the previous year’s record of 594, antisemitism is still a worrying issue affecting many and at levels higher than ever before.
“The fall in the number of antisemitic incidents is very welcome, but is less than we had hoped for. 2007 was still the second worst year on record and the worst ever for violent assaults,” said CST spokesman Mark Gardner. “Over the past decade there has been a significant rise in the basic level of anti-Semitic incidents in our society, and it is affecting the lives of far too many British Jews.”
Full Breakdown of antisemitic incidents in 2007:

114 Assaults

62 Damage & Desecration of Jewish property
