2007 Antisemitism report in France

The annual report of the SPCJ – indicates a 30% decrease in antisemitic incidents during 2007.

CRIF (the council that represents the Jewish organizations in France)
received the information from the Jewish community protection service (SPCJ) in
regard to the year 2007.

He emphasizes his satisfaction on the decrease in anti-semitic incidents, which is a 30% decrease from 2006. He salutes the governments in their ongoing efforts starting on 2003 to obtain such a decrease.

However, the CRIF organization remains troubled. A relatively high level of antisemitic incidents, a high level of violence in part of these incidents and a wide spreading of anti-semitic stereotypes indicate that anti-semitism in anchored in structure of our country.

The CRIF organization requests the public authorities to proceed with their continues efforts, especially regarding education to facilitate a steady and continues decrease in the incidents.
