Edinburgh University’s Islamic Society boycotted a Holocaust Memorial Day event on the campus, citing “reservations as to how the memory of the Holocaust is sometimes used for political purposes”.
In a letter leaked to the Jewish Society, leaders of the Islamic Society (ISocEd) called for “a Genocide Memorial Day in the future to mark genocides throughout history, including both the Holocaust and the Palestinian crisis”.
