The victims, who are visibly Jewish and were wearing their school uniform, were verbally abused at a train station Crumpsall. They were paying for a ticket and were 5 pence short. They were then approached by two white youths. They said to one of the victims “get that carpet off your head” referring to his Kippah. The victims ran around the corner to the safety of school friends. The perpetrators put the missing 5 pence into the ticket machine and stole the victims train ticket. The victims borrowed money to replace the stolen ticket and continued their journey. The perpetrators were on the same train and continued to laugh and point at the victims.
