The victims, who were visibly Jewish, were walking home from the Synagogue after evening services for a religious Jewish festival. A vehicle drove past them and the occupants shouted something at them. The victims did not hear everything that was said but did hear the word “Jew”. A liquid, which turned out to be orange juice, was then thrown over them.
