The organization “Glance at the Palestinian Communication” has published a theatre “play” presented by the Hamas theatre in which it is said numerous times that Jews drink Muslims’ blood and believe that God wants the Jews to hate the Muslims. In the segment presented, performed before a life audience in the Islamic University in Gaza and broadcasted in the Hamas television on April the 3rd, the stereotyped character of an orthodox Jew is seen along with his son, while the father repeats over and over again the mantra that God has given he Jews the mandate to hate the Muslims.
The father tells his son: “We hate the Muslims and want to kill all the Muslims. We want to drink the Muslims’ blood.” Later on, it is said that the Jews do not wash their hands before the prayers with water but with Muslims’ blood. This show is a representative sample of antisemitic blood libel in which Jews have been accused of using non-Jewish blood for cult purposes, especially for the baking of matzos for Passover. These blood libels have given birth to profound hate and became the incentives to pogroms against Jews and to the slaughter of thousands of them. The accusation by the Hamas according to the Jews drink Muslims’ blood comes one week before Passover, a holy-day that the blood libel is so much relied to.
