Belgium – Insults and attacks against Jews in Antwerp

On the last day of the Passover Festival three women of Arab-Muslim origin, in their twenties, made their way by car to the Jacob Jacobstraat.

On reaching the Loosplaats area they opened the window of the car in which they were traveling and started singing Anti-Semitic songs and cursing Jews, who were passing by in the Street.

When they reached the vicinity of Leruisstraat one of the women got out of the vehicle, grabbed a Jewish girl by the throat and threatened to kill her. When a young boy who was passing by tried to intervene, the other two women shouted at Jews who were in the Street at the time. One of them hit the youngster who had tried to intervene.

The boy’s father, who arrived at the scene in order to help his son, pushed the assailant away.

When the Police arrived on the scene they began an investigation into the incident.
