Belarus – Minsk fans waved a sign in support of Rudolph Hess

10 days before celebrating the 65th anniversary of Nazi Germany’s defeat, a group of Dynamo Minsk fans waved a sign praising Rudolph Hess, who was a senior member of the Nazi party in Germany and Hitler’s deputy.

The sign that was waved by the fans during a league game against Vitebsk, contained Hess’ image accompanied by the following writing: “For us, your life is an example of loyalty”.

Dinamo Minsk club quickly renounced these fans and issued a statement of condemnation. The statement, which was published in the club’s official website said: “we are sorry for this appalling act. We have no doubt that these people have no connection to our real fans”.

The Belarus Football Association announced that it shall fine Dynamo Minsk by 100,000$. The police started an investigation of the incident. It is estimated that the people who waved the flag would be arrested shortly.
