Baruch Yehuda Halberstam, 25-year-old Yeshiva student, was shot on his way home on the abdomen by two unknown persons, who called him antisemitic calls. The scholar was put in operation at Bellviee hospital Manhattan.
The incident occurred at 12 and half at night (NY time) at 156 South 9th Street and Driggs Ave in Williamsburg neighborhood. According to eyewitnesses, two blacks opened fire at the grandson of Rabbi Moshe Halberstam while shouting antisemitic calls, (“Heil Hitler”), and fled.
Shooting suspects fled in a white van with Ev96489 plates. New York Police found the vehicle abandoned at Jefferson and Franklin.
