Professor Joel Kotek hosted a seminar dealing with antisemitism in the city of Sint-Jans-Molenbeek. The seminar was part of a program for promoting cultural understanding between Jews and Muslims.
Joel Kotek is a Jewish Professor at the l’Université Libre de Bruxelles, and an expert on antisemitism and Holocaust studies.
While indoors a vibrant and productive discussion went on, several individuals attempted to disturb its proper course by using horns vuvuzelas and by pounding doors at the premises.
The rioters held signs saying “Jihad”, “Hamas”, Hizbullah” and “Kotek is a Murderer”.
An additional sign exclaimed: “The Zionist Pastime – Lie, Torture, Steal, Kill”
