Dublin – The editors of The Irish Independent, the country’s largest newspaper, have chosen this week’s letter, published on January 7, in which the authors make a comparison between the Nazi attitude towards Jews and Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians.
In addition to the incitement, the erroneous historical facts and the anti-intellectual argument that Israeli « atrocities » against Palestinians are equal to Nazi atrocities against Jews, these comparisons are described as anti-Semitic by the European Parliament and the international work on the memory of the Holocaust, of which Ireland is a member.
Troubling decision by editors @cormacbourke at @Independent_ie to choose, as the ‘letter of the week’, a letter Comparing Israel’s treatment of Palestinians to the Nazi treatment of Jews – a comparison caractérisé as antisemitic by the EU Parliament https: // t. co / 4bNfNh1kHO pic.twitter.com/aBBY1hEGsn
