Prosecutor threatened by antisemitic person – the person has been charged

Kiskunfélegyáhz – The prosecution has filed charges against a Budapest resident who sent
threats by email to the prosecutor from Kecskemét, who is the author of a book about
the holocaust.


According to an announcement of
Schmidt Gábor, the book
of the Kecskemét prosecutor
is a documentary book about the city history in the time of the holocaust.


The book’s second edition was
published in September2014. The announcement also said that the book would be
distributed to high school student in the city and the author would also come
to talk to them about the holocaust.


The person charged, 40 years old,
read about the book on the internet and sent a threatening letter to the
author’s private mail. In his letter, he used antisemitic comments and
threatened to hurt him in order to force him to stop his activities related to
the documentary book.


Following a complaint that was
received, the police launched an investigation, found the man and subpoenaed
him fo an interrogation as a suspect. He confessed to the
act. The man was not arrested, but following the interrogation charges were
filed against him for an attempt of violence against a member of the community.
