Friedrichshain, Berlin – On May 15, a Jewish woman sat on the U5 subway in the direction of Alexander-Platz (“Alexander Square”) and spoke to a friend on the phone. Most of the conversation was in German, but the woman added a short sentence in Hebrew. One man, who sat before her, turned to her and cursed, calling her “Yahud” (in Arabic: “Jews”), “wicked” and “murderers of babies”.
He turned again, and didn’t talk again to the woman. No one in the subway station intervened.
