Oak Park, Ventura County, CA - Authorities on Wednesday asked the public to help identify those responsible for several cases of antisemitic notes found in various Oak Park locations, including a Chabad center.

Authorities began investigating after the Ventura County Sheriff's Office responded at 8 p.m. Saturday to reports of the discovery of antisemitic material. Detective Tim Lohman said 4-inch by 6-inch note cards with swastikas and derogatory marks written on them had been left on vehicles, front doors and mailboxes. They were left at seven homes and Chabad of Oak Park, authorities said.

With the exception of the Chabad center, the notes appeared randomly placed and did not target Jewish residents, authorities said.

Sheriff's Capt. Garo Kuredjian said the incidents are thought to be connected. A task force has been created in collaboration with federal law enforcement officials to identify those involved.

Surveillance footage from one incident shows at least four males, believed to be in their teens, placing the notes on the front door of a home and a vehicle, authorities said. Investigators suspect the males are from the area.
