Poland – A Survey on the Subject of the Dismissal of an Antisemitic Priest
On 6th September 2007, a survey was published in the Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza according to which 67% of the Poles support the dismissal of the antisemitic priest Rydzhik and only 20% oppose it. The remaining 13% did not express an opinion. It is still not clear whether there is an element of consolation in these data. There is strong opposition to Rydzhik in the liberal and intellectual circles in Warsaw and other large cities. Among the religious faithful in Poland mainly in the outlying districts where 90% of the population goes to church, there is definitely grass roots support for Father Rydzhik and the phenomenon he represents.
