Canada – Man, 23, accused of hurling antisemitic threats at North York school

North York, ON – Mark Encarnacion, a 23-year-old man is accused of making hate-motivated threats at a Jewish school in North York.

Toronto Police say officers responded to a call regarding threats being made in the area of Bathurst St. and Wilson Ave. around 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

It is alleged that a man walking in the area of a school made “several antisemitic threats towards students and families,” police said in a news release.

Police subsequently identified and arrested a suspect on Thursday.

Mark Encarnacion, of Toronto, is charged with uttering threats and causing a disturbance.

Police are treating this as a suspected hate-motivated offence.
