Strasbourg – Three students, members of the Union of Jewish Students of France, were violently attacked on the Strasbourg campus.
At the time of the events, the young victims were putting up posters when they were attacked and then violently attacked. “They were accosted by two young girls who wanted them to stop putting up posters. After heated exchanges, they started yelling at them, then they called friends who beat up the three students,” testifies on Europe 1 the representative of Jewish students of France from Strasbourg.
One of the attacked students managed to take refuge in a restaurant. The other two managed to escape and they all filed complaints. On Saturday, the minister responsible for combating discrimination, Aurore Bergé, came to provide support to the students. “Students who have Jewish-sounding names are refusing to come to university because they are afraid of being subjected to violence and that is unacceptable,” she denounced.
