Milan – «Jews to death, rats, we are coming to get you from your sewers», «Nazi Jews, you will pay for what you are doing», «Jew pig, it ends badly for you», «Free Palestine from the Nazi Jews», «We will fight for our brothers in Palestine, this is what Allah wants and he will not fail to keep his promise.”
Death threats and antisemitic insults appeared on the walls of a bathroom of a bar in the Viale Giovanni dalle Bande Nere area , the Jewish neighborhood of Milan. Insults written in marker accompanied by Arabic crescents and stars of David crossed out with crosses, as a sign of disfigurement.
It is important to underline that the restaurant, despite being located in the Jewish quarter, is not run by people of the Jewish religion, which makes the act even more incomprehensible. The employees of the restaurant express their concern and the discomfort that grips them following the shocking discovery. One of them said: «When we entered the bathroom and read the death threats, we felt deeply worried. In the neighborhood there is a tense and hateful atmosphere that concerns everyone.” Another employee added: «We are distressed. For now it’s just writing on the wall, but who can guarantee that something even more serious won’t happen tomorrow?”
