Genlis (Côte d’Or) – An investigation was launched by the Dijon prosecutor’s office after the discovery of neo-Nazi flyers in the mailboxes of residents of the city of Genlis (Côte d’Or). The flyers in question were entitled “Message to Our White Fellow Patriots” and called on the “white man” to “restore white domination.”
“This is very worrying. I thought it was over,” said Martial Mathiron, the mayor of the commune of 5,300 inhabitants. The elected official claims to have been contacted by “more than a dozen inhabitants” who found this leaflet in their mailbox.
Disturbingly, leaflets with similar ideologies have recently been distributed in Brittany and Jura. The public prosecutor in Dijon said that “research [was] underway for possible cross-checks, which could lead to the referral of the national pole for the fight against hate to the Paris prosecutor’s office.”
The leaflet refers to the website “DemPart” (for “Participatory Democracy”) that the French justice has been trying to block since 2018 because of negationist and racist remarks. But the site, hosted in the United States, is still accessible from France.
