Berlin – A man from Berlin has threatened the Jewish Museum in Munich and the Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) with a bomb attack.

The threat, which arrived by email last Wednesday, was embedded in antisemitic tirades.

The state protection of the Munich criminal police was able to identify the sender quickly: The 37-year-old is no stranger. It was only in April that he had sent anti-Jewish emails to the Jewish community in Munich.

Since then, the police in Munich and Berlin have been investigating charges of incitement to hatred and insults against the Berliner, who is known to the police. The man had already sent one of his hate mails to the Jewish Museum on April 21. The suspected author was easily identified by the investigators via the sender address. The man is now also being investigated for threats.
