Dubai – A Kuwaiti man recently verbally harassed several children waiting for a flight to Tel Aviv at Dubai International Airport, shouting “Free Palestine” at them.
A video of the incident was recorded by the assailant himself, identified as Waleed al-Mutairi, who uploaded it to social media on Thursday.
In the footage, the man can be heard yelling “Free Palestine!” before adding, “This is a country for Palestinian people, not for all. God gave you to chance to make it yourself as good, but you don’t take it, the good, for yourself…not your country and thank you very much.”
The children seen in the video, as well as a woman who appeared to be their mother, watched in surprise as the man harangued them and did not respond.
In response to the incident, the Emirati Foreign Ministry tweeted that “the matter will be transferred to the competent authorities.”
Israel and the United Arab Emirates normalized relations in 2020 with the signing of the Abraham Accords, and since then ties have flourished, including multiple flights between the two countries daily.
Kuwait, on the other hand, has maintained a vociferously hostile position toward Israel, vowing it would “be the last” to make peace with the Jewish state.
