Falkirk – Anti-Catholic and antisemitic slogans painted on the ground just yards from two Scottish schools. James Bundy, who sits on Falkirk Council, says it was particularly disappointing to see it over the weekend those from Irish backgrounds were marking St Patrick’s Day.
The graffiti reported to Cllr Bundy was in Sunnyside Park, close to Catholic schools St Mungo’s High School and St Francis Primary School. It said “Kill all Taigs” and “6m Jews should have been Taigs”. ‘Taig’ is a derogatory term for a Catholic or nationalist in Northern Ireland while the six million is a reference to the number of Jews murdered by the Nazis in the Holocaust.
