Brooklyn, NY – An ultra-Orthodox Jew (Lubavitcher) was the victim of an unprovoked assault in the Remsen Village area of Crown Heights Wednesday morning, taking a punch to the head that left him shaken.
According to reports, Crown Heights Shomrim was called around 8:50am to the scene on Remsen Ave between Winthrop and Clarkson for the report of a Jewish man punched in the head. When they arrived, they found the man suffering from the blow, with the perpetrator having fled the scene.
The victim had been able to quickly call Shomrim and 911 despite the assault, and stated that the man had approached without saying anything, just came at him and attacked. With his quick action, the victim was also able to take a photo of the perpetrator, providing it to Shomrim and the NYPD.
Thankfully the victim’s injuries were not serious and he did not require medical attention.
