Santa Fe – The IL Peretz Cultural and Sports Association woke up with antisemitic graffiti in front of its headquarters, located in the Santa Fe macrocentro.
Swastikas and the word “Hitler” were the inscriptions that alerted the authorities of the Jewish institution, located on Calle Francia at 2200.
In this regard, El Litoral communicated with Daniel Silber, representative of the Association who repudiated what happened and called on civil society “to speak out energetically against fascism, hatred, racism and for the construction of democratic societies where we can all live together”.
The interviewee framed this episode in a series of events that occurred in recent times. He gave as an example the vandalism of the bust of Anne Frank , which had to be moved from a place on the Santa Fe waterfront.
When consulted, Silber commented that, after what happened, they received the support of different sectors such as the Argentine League for Human Rights, the Forum against impunity, the Federation of Jewish Cultural Entities of Argentina, among others.
There was also a message of repudiation and solidarity from the DAIA Filial Santa Fe, who expressed “their deep discomfort and repudiation of the anti-Semitic graffiti that has appeared in recent hours at the headquarters of the IL Peretz Association in our city, expressing their absolute solidarity with the itself,” said a statement.
In addition, they add: “Once again, from our institution we fight for the prompt clarification of the facts, urging the authorities to carry out all the corresponding actions in this regard.”
And they close: “From the DAIA Filial Santa Fe, we express ourselves against all forms of violence and hate speech, betting on the strengthening of social ties and respect for differences and the democratic construction of life in common.”
