Cooper City, FL – Just a day shy of the beginning of Hanukkah, the Broward Sheriff’s Office has increased deputies in Cooper City due to antisemitic vandalism.
On Saturday, BSO deputies were alerted to graffiti depicting the symbols in Cooper City’s Trellises neighborhood, the city said in the statement.
Exactly what or where it was drawn is unclear. The city said BSO is “aggressively investigating” the incident and has increased their patrols ahead of the holidays.
The Cooper City Commission sent out a message to its residents condemning the “antisemitic slurs”.
“We, as a Commission, want to make it clear that Cooper City is and will always be an inclusive community,” the message read. “There is no place for hate, bigotry or antisemitism.”
