Köthen – Unknown perpetrators damaged graves in the Jewish and Catholic part of the municipal cemetery in Köthen. As the public prosecutor’s office in Dessau-Roßlau announced on Tuesday, the police state security is taking over investigations into disturbing the peace of the dead and property damage. The incident was reported to the police last week.
The graves were therefore primarily damaged by the knocking over of the gravestones. Four graves were affected in the Catholic cemetery, but 16 in the Jewish part. The police assume that the crimes were committed in early or mid-May.
