RIAAS Bayern in Munich presented the annual report “Antisemitic incidents in Bavaria 2021”.

RIAS Bavaria documented more anti-Semitic cases in 2021 for the third consecutive year. 447 cases have been recorded in the Free State, an increase of 82 percent compared to 2020. Antisemitism was particularly striking in the context of corona protests, anti-Israeli gatherings and direct messages on the Internet.

Examples: A Jew was scolded and spit on at Marienplatz in Munich, in the Upper Bavarian Kolbermoor, the slogan “Jews are stuck behind Corona” was left on a power box and became at an anti-Israeli assembly in Munich comparing the Israeli forces to military forces.

Especially the incidents in everyday life and the almost reflective living of resentments on the street, in the living environment and even in the acquaintances circle witnessed an everyday “normality”, which is unbearable,” said RIAS-Bayern leader Annette Seidel-Arpacı.
