A man sentenced to eighteen months imprisonment for antisemitic remarks and unprecedented violence

Nantes – a 59-year-old the man has published many anti-Semitic messages and images on social networks and was sentenced on Monday by the Nantes Criminal Court to 18 months in prison for racial slurs, Holocaust denial and hate speech. The defendant, who lives in Teillé (Loire Atlantique), connected to Facebook and the Russian social network VK in order to publish his ideas there.

According to the prosecutor in Ouest France his messages were particularly violent and he compared the Jewish people to rats and denied the existence of concentration camps. Some of his publications were directed against a journalist of Tribune Juive. His attorney claimed that his computer had been hacked. The court ruled that he would pay compensation to the victim and to the LICRA organization.
