Denver Messianic Jewish church vandalized with swastika
Denver, CO – Members of a Denver church found two white swastikas on the side of their building Tuesday afternoon, and police have taken one person into custody after catching a man Wednesday morning while he was scribbling graffiti inside the building.
Police identified the man Wednesday afternoon as 29-year-old Frank Maya.
Investigators do not know whether Maya is the same person who painted a swastika on Tuesday, Sonny Jackson, a Denver police spokesman, said.
According to a probable cause statement, police encountered Maya when they arrived at the Church in the City-Beth Abraham at 16th Avenue and Gaylord Street on Wednesday morning.
