Antisemitic flyers against Lazio and Napoli
Rome – The Italian police opened an investigation on antisemitic posters apparently stuck by supporters of AS Roma on the occasion of an anniversary of their rivals Lazio.
The posters, signed by a group of Roma ultra supporters, were stuck overnight in the north of the city, where Lazio supporters were celebrating their 119th birthday.
“Lazio, Naples, Israel, same colors, same flags. Shit, “said the posters.
The incident comes one year after Lazio fans held up posters of Anne Frank wearing a Roma jersey in the stands of the Olympic stadium, which was scandalous.
The mayor of the city Virginia Raggi “strongly condemned these antisemitic leaflets appeared in Rome”. “Football can not be divisive and intolerant,” she wrote on Twitter.
