L’Haÿ-les-Roses (Val-de-Marne) – the mayor of L’Haÿ-les-Roses (Val-de-Marne), Vincent Jeanbrun, of “La Republicaine” party, has decided to vote a municipal law in order to prevent the performances of Dieudonne, who was repeatedly convicted of racial insults, incitement to hatred and advocating terrorism.

The decision was made after Dieudonne planned to perform in this city on the outskirts of southern Paris.

“As an elected public figure connected to the fundamental values of the Republic, I cannot support his performances after he was convicted by the judicial system several times for anti-Semitic statements and insults, incitement to racial hatred, terrorism, violation of moral right, defamation and calling for illegal donations” the municipality mentioned in the notice.

According to the municipality, “the performances were supposed to take place in a restaurant. The restaurant didn’t get any permission to host such an event since it didn’t apply for a permit 15 days before the performance”.

Another offense arises from the municipality’s report: “The owner does not hold a certificate as a concert organizer”, which constitutes “an offense in accordance with labor laws.”

Finally, the municipality mentions the announcement of the Communal Safety Committee stating that those performances “could endanger the public’s safety” because the auditorium does not meet the standard requirements for halls that host a public audience (ERP).
