Antisemitic chants at the national football cup in the German regional state of Brandenburg
Ludwigsfelde – the quarter-finals of the National Football Cup in Brandenburg between the two leading teams Ludwigsfelder FC and FSV 63 Luckenwalde were marked by the following incident.
A number of people stood on the steps leading down to the field making anti-Semitic statements, a fact which went by undisturbed.
More than 700 spectators watched the cup games on Sunday. According to the coach of Luckenwalde, the anti-Semitic insults, allegedly also sexist, were chanted by a group of ten to twelve people who were allegedly standing behind the bench of those invited specially to the match.
The information gathered reveals that alongside other slurs, the words “a lousy Jewish pig” were repeatedly chanted. According to claims, even the physiotherapist and the sports physician, who were on the team of caretakers for the FSV Luckenwalde team, were also the targets of verbal abuse.
