Boone, North Carolina – Antisemitic graffiti, including an image of a swastika, was spray-painted on the wall of a pedestrian tunnel at Appalachian State University in Boone on Sunday, according to a Facebook post by the Watauga County chapter of the NAACP.

The organization posted two images of the graffiti, which showed a Jewish Star of David and the words “Holocaust was a good thing,” and a swastika on a red flag with “Heil Hitler” written above it. The graffiti was in one of the pedestrian tunnels underneath Rivers Street and is used by students and faculty and staff members to safely cross the street to get to the campus.
