Bergerac – vandals spray painted a swastika and other inscriptions on the window of the cigarette store called Chez Néné, during the night between Wednesday and Thursday.

Christine Weiss, the owner of the Chez Néné cigaret shop in Bergerac on the Neuve-d’Argenson Street, discovered the graffiti on Thursday just before 8 am when she opened the store. A huge black swastika was painted on the display window along with various words and insults.

Most of them were unreadable, but Christine Weiss has deciphered some of them as “Jude”. I’m hurt, says the woman who is herself Jewish, but mostly I feel sorry for those who committed the crime.

The national police opened an investigation on Thursday morning. Agents from the forensic department came to identify fingerprints on the front of the shop.
