France - Comedian fined for remarks on Holocaust
French comic Dieudonne was fined 7,000 euros after he accused Jews of “memorial pornography” for their remembrance of the Holocaust.
The comedian, whose full name is Dieudonne M’Bala M’Bala, made the remarks at a press conference in Algeria in February 2005.
In the same conference he attacked “The Zionist lobby which cultivates the idea of their unique suffering... and has declared war on the black world.”
A Paris court found him guilty of “Complicity to slander a group of persons on the grounds of race, religion or origin.”
