Germany – Synagogue desecrated

Swastikas and the number “88” – which in Neo-Nazi circles represents the slogan “Heil Hitler” - were sprayed on graves in the cemetery of Staßfurt town.

The German Police reported that the cemetery was locked and the perpetrators probably climbed its wall.

It was also reported that paint samples were taken from the tombs to help detect suspects.

“We immediately called for a bloodhound to inspect the area”, said Jörg Methner of the Staßfurt Police. He also said that it had already happened that swastikas were sprayed inside the cemetery, but never to the extent seen this time.
